Does editing add a watermark?
No. The exported PDF is clean: no watermark, no branding, no quality loss on the parts you did not touch.
Is it safe for confidential documents?
Everything runs on your device: the PDF is never uploaded to a server. For sensitive text you can also use true redaction, which removes the content from the file rather than drawing a box over it.
