Edit PDF Text FAQ
Can I edit the actual text in a PDF, not just add a text box on top?
Yes. peadf reads the real text in your PDF so you can click a line and retype it. The original font, size and colour are kept and paragraphs re-wrap as you edit, unlike tools that only let you paste a new text box over the page.
Will the font change when I edit?
No. peadf reuses the font embedded in your PDF, so edited text matches the rest of the document. If a font is missing, the closest match is used for just the characters that need it.
Can I edit a scanned PDF?
Yes. Built-in OCR runs on your device to recognise the text on a scan, and then you can edit it like any other PDF. The scan never leaves your browser.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. All editing happens in your browser. The file stays on your device from start to finish, and there is no watermark on the result.
